Environmentally Friendly Plastic Injection Moulding
Posted on Apr 01, 2025
Using the knowledge gathered over many years, Bloxwich Stamping can offer an efficient, competitive and environmentally friendly plastic injection moulding service. Bloxwich Stamping are ISO 9001 approved and use state-of-the-art BOY 35E & BOY 60E robotic plastic injection moulding machines.
The Plastic Injection Moulding Process
See the video (on YouTube) for more details but essentially once everything is set up and the hoppers filled etc. the machines can run automatically but the various steps can be summarized as:
- The mould halves close and clamp.
- The Promyde® polymer granules melt and mix.
- The machine injects molten plastic into the mould.
- The plastic is pressurised to fill the mould cavities.
- The plastic part(s) cool and solidify.
- The mould opens and the finished moulded part(s) are ejected from the mould and drop into the bin underneath.
- At the same time as step 6 “the sprue” gets collected by the robotic arm and is dropped into a clean sack.
Sprues
Sprues are required in most injection mouldings. They are the entry points and passages that allow the molten plastic to flow into the mould.
“The sprue” are the pieces of plastic which have solidified in these passages (usually joining a number of moulded plastic items in the same mould).
Bloxwich Stamping collect the sprue in clean sacks and put through one of their regrinding machines. It’s then set aside for reuse later (depending on the colour and products being made). By regrinding and reusing the sprue in other injection moulded products, Bloxwich Stamping does another little bit for the environment.
Products
The final products being made can be anything from door gear bushes, hinge bushes, door handles, vents, door handle spacers, door retainer back plates and hay net ring dishes to various other customer specific parts. A few examples are shown below.

Capacity Available
These machines are so efficient and reliable they can run automatically, day and night. As a result we regularly have capacity available for more work.
